Zuhair Murad Spring 2017 Couture

Zuhair Murad’s fashion show was about fireworks. While I could notice inspirations here and there in the silhouettes from his native roots in the Middle East, what I found the most fascinating about his offering in Paris was the colours his clothes wore – purple, fuchsia, emerald green, fire engine red, they were ravishing to say the least. Amongst a sea of duchess satin, oversized bows, embroidery, tulle, peplums, trains, ruffles and red crystals, Zuhair (also, the founder of the brand) interplayed colours and sleek cuts, all the while drawing his inspiration from Dynasty – one of the finest soap operas ever.
