Ronald van der Kemp Fall 2016 Couture

Ronald van der Kemp is back for a fourth time but for Fall 2016 the label is mixing fashion from the eighties with modern cuts and feels. Just imagine: draped sleeves, a jacket made out of various leather fabric swatches, a jacquard skirt, highlighted shoulders, ruffles, damask in purple dyes, animal-print that had a certain kind of ferocity, velvet, defined waists, denim handwoven in India, stripey muslin (a primarily exquisite Bangladeshi fabric), and a kind of origami-carving are just a few fine examples of the collection, all of which made me remember of a yesteryear that was uniquely fashionable, and in love with gorgeous fittings.

  1. Her semi-traditional things I like better—but that’s me! 🙂
