The Fashionable Twins: Mary-Kate Olsen and Ashley Olsen

Mary-Kate Olsen and Ashley Olsen are the twin sisters wreaking havoc in the celebrity-universe since the days of Full House. Full House turned out to be a show where the twins grew, as the show evolved. Following minor successes in feature films, such as Factory Girl and It Takes Two, the duo quit acting to focus on their careers in fashion.

This decision was spurned on by their A-list status celebrities, and great public interest in their respective fashion ideas, for which the Olsens decided to kickstart their respective fashion careers. A fashion collaboration in junction with the American supermarket chain, Wal-Mart, soon followed alongside a beauty line.

Advocating workers rights in Bangladesh aside, for those who manufacture their fashion line’s clothes, for which they have received appraise, their fashion lines deconstructs modern couture into wearable structured silhouettes. The Row (named after Savile Row), Elizabeth and James (a contemporary vintage fashion haunt), Olsenboye (a collaboration with J.C. Penney) and StyleMint (a T-Shirt line) are all style aficionado’s of the Olsens, and they have even earned a CFDA Fashion Award for the work.
