Elie Saab Spring Summer 2013

Elie Saab’s collection this season was in a mix of a variety of fabrics: silk, stretch crepe and Georgette. In eveningwear, he opted for sculpting his dresses with grosgrain at the waist. Saab named his collection “Heiress”, presenting plenty of workwear items from crisp dark blue shirts to pencil skirts, as well as some nice sequinned cocktail dresses and gowns with lace inserts.

Cross-body bags and oversized totes also made their presence felt across many looks. Some striking looks include: a dark blue silk Georgette blouse which was paired with matching straight leg stretch crepe trousers, a dark blue stretch crepe jacket with a pretty ruffle detail at the waist, and a teal stretch crepe full volume short dress with stitched seams in the front and back.

The Lebanese designer seems to have put in a lot of effort into getting every minute detail of his clothes correct because the construct of some his clothes were really complex, such as a lapel detail in the front in a blush dress, a vanilla grosgrain embroidered shirt, a sparkling champagne dress that had an uneven length hem, and a fully embroidered raspberry mini dress.
