Paco Rabanne Spring Summer 2013

Paco Rabanne created a niche for the fashion house in the sixties with its pioneering designs of metallic embellishments. One of the iconic dresses that was created was a gold and silver dress embellished with metalworks all across, worn by the French movie star, Brigitte Bardot. The dress served as an inspiration for this season’s collection.

There were some modern and true-to-the-times addition of silk, laces and mesh inserts, along with more of the original metal embellishments on the runway. Colours used were diverse: purple, green, black, white and gold.

The classic silhouettes still remain, dabbled in a variety of textures. PVC dresses so popular in the sixties also served as an inspiration particularly for a jacket, albeit with the Spanish fashion house’s ethnic touches.

Like the colour.
